We offer a selection of fully accommodated and camping-based family-friendly 'Discovery' tours, specially designed with itineraries and activities for young and old alike. These tours have been developed by parents for families, keeping fun and safety in mind. From riding horses and walking through forests, to observing animals in their natural habitats - this will be an unforgettable experience that your sons and daughters will never forget!

Our activity tours have been designed to combine the needs of both your kids and yourselves - so plenty of fun activities and time to relax and less time spent 'on the road', yet still providing the opportunity to enjoy local culture and see all the exciting sights of the area. As well as ensuring the kids are never bored, our tours take away the hassle of driving, planning and organising from the parents, so you can relax and enjoy your holiday too. Groups are small and as our tours are sold in over 30 countries, you may soon be making friends with someone from the other side of the world! |

Family Friendly Adventures

Travel in itself is a fun and educational experience for children and we know our chosen destinations are full of sights and places that will make yours say "Wow!"
As well as offering plenty of free time for swimming or just 'chillling out', all tours offer a great variety of included and optional activities from the gentle fun of a canoe trip to the adrenaline rush of white water rafting. What about riding the range like a cowboy in the desert southwest or spotting bears in Alaska? Be warned, if your idea of the perfect family holiday is 2 weeks in a 4 star hotel reading the latest bestseller while the kids amuse themselves on the beach, then a Family Discovery tour may not be for you, but if you want to have an active adventure with your kids, then read on... Some of the more prominent activities for every trip are listed under the "Optional Activities" section on each trip's tour page. These options are not usually included in the holiday price because not every passenger wants to participate in each. Our leaders know where to get the best group rates available for various attractions and activities. This way each member of the group can choose according to their own taste and budget. |

Accommodation
You will find some of tours are designed with just camping or lodging accomodation in mind but on certain tours we will accommodate you with combination of the two.|
CAMPING:
Nearly all of our local campgrounds provide modern conveniences and amenities such as hot showers, flush toilets and even small cafes; whilst others will have swimming pools, shops and laundrettes. On special occasions, our groups may utilise rustic, wilderness sites in order to fully appreciate more remote areas' natural surroundings. We only use top of the range, spacious two-person tents and thick (air/foam-filled) sleeping pads to ensure your evenings are comfortable and restful. Sturdy camp chairs are often available for those fireside chats and your guides help prepare delicious meals in our portable kitchens using state of the art camping stoves and gas lanterns. All you need to bring is a warm sleeping bag and a sense of adventure and you will be sure to enjoy the trip of a lifetime! LODGING: The type of accommodation for these tours is as different as the unique lands they explore. For tours in the USA, Alaska and Canada, a combination of tourist class lodges, cabins, hotels and motels suited to the individual areas is used. For tours in Mexico, we stay at budget or tourist class hotels and cabins that are clean and comfortable, thought not always with the same level of amenities as similar types of accommodation north of the border. However they are sure to make you feel at home. For South American tours, the accommodation varies with each region we visit. Lodging tours are fully accommodated on a twin share basis and may range from a comfortable 3 star beachfront hotel to a rustic mountain lodge. On occasion, there may be a multi-shared room but the local surroundings will certainly compensate. Please see individual tour Foot Notes for more information. |

Get Involved
|
An essential part of a Footloose camping holiday is helping out around the campground. With guidance from your tour leader, everyone sets up and packs down the camp together. Whilst our leaders shop for fresh food and prepare the meals, you are welcome to lend a hand in the 'kitchen' or at the BBQ. Our international groups regularly create and enjoy delicious meals together.

Age
|
Due to the nature of our adventure tours, the minimum age for children is 8 years old (children aged 6 & 7 will be considered on request) and anyone under 18 must be accommpanied by an adult.
Children under 16 receive a discount on the normal tour price. (10% Child Discount 8-16 years) |
