Tour Style: Multi-Activity

All levels of adventure are available! From softer adventures which mix cities, small towns and National Parks to higher levels of adventure in the Rocky Mountains and the Desert Southwest. Whitewater rafting, horse riding, walking, sea kayaking, hiking, canoe trips, photography, mountain biking and so much more...

Some of the more prominent ones for every trip are listed under the "Optional Activities" section on each trip's page. These options are not usually included in the holiday price because not every passenger wants to participate in each. Our leaders know where to get the best group rates available for various attractions and activities. This way each member of the group can choose according to their own taste and budget.

Accommodation: Camping in style

Never camped before...? Fear not.. Footloose has made it easy! We supply everything needed to make camping holidays simple and comfortable. Footloose provides all necessary camping equipment including tents, cold food storage containers, camp lights, stoves and other camp accessories. Our tents are very easy to set up and take down. They are virtually weather-proof to keep you comfortable. We camp two in each four person tent, which leaves more than enough room for your luggage. Home sweet home!

Campgrounds situated in stunning natural settings give Footloose groups opportunities not found by conventional tourists. When we camp near major city destinations, nearly all the campgrounds have full facilities such as showers, pools, shops, and laundromats. Virtually all National Park campgrounds have pay showers, flush toilets and basic facilities. Occasionally, our groups will may to stay in more isolated areas where the surroundings will quickly make you forget any lack of facilities. All campsite fees are included in the cost of the tour.

Bring your own sleeping bag - we recommend a 'three season' bag as nights can be cool early and late season, especially in the mountains. We supply a "thermarest" pad to sleep on for added comfort.

Passenger participation
An essential part of a Footloose camping holiday is helping with the day to day campground chores. With guidance from your tour leader and our full range of camping equipment, the team spirit makes the chores easy and enjoyable. From setting up in the evening, to breaking camp in the morning, from unloading the roofrack, to shopping for food and preparing group meals, you'll be part of the team with Footloose.

Hotels en-route
In some cities, Footloose arranges to stay in budget class hotels that are chosen to be close to the action. Some tours might include a ranch or luxury camp stay. These nights, marked (HP), are always included in the tour price.

Food Kitty
Our groups share in the preparation and cooking of the food. Supplies, excluding soft drinks and alcohol, are purchased from the food kitty, and each member of the group pays $9 per day en route. This covers three meals on most days while we are camping; eating fresh foods that we purchase as we travel to satisfy the international flavour of the group. A healthy way to travel at an unbeatable price. Naturally this does not cover hotel stops or when our groups sometimes sample regional cuisine at local restaurants. Some meals are included on our South America tours.
