A rugged region with pristine
lakes, dramatic mountains and awe inspiring glaciers
- Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego will take your breath
away.
This tour will take you into
the heart of Chile and Argentinas most beautiful
wilderness regions. Stunning landscapes, surreal sunsets
and excellent trekking opportunities are yours to
explore!
After greeting you from our gateway
hotel in Calafate, we begin exploring this beautiful
part of the world with a visit to the famous Perito
Moreno Glacier. One of the worlds few advancing
glaciers, Perito Moreno provides spectacular shows
as its massive chunks of ice fall into Lake Argentino,
the third largest lake in South America. There will
be ample time for an optional trek to Perito Morenos
ice face, horse riding or a boat cruise to nearby
glaciers.
Continuing the journey, we will
travel along the mystical Ruta 40 to the mountain
village of El Chalten. Located at the foot of Fitz
Roy mountain range, we will have easy access to the
many local trekking opportunities.
Crossing the border into Chile,
it only gets better. We will camp and explore the
spectacular Torres del Paine National Park. Highlights
include Lago Nordensjold, Grey Glacier and the imposing
and iconic Torres Massif, whose grandeur will inspire
even the most travelled visitors. Watch the icebergs
floating alongside Grey Glacier or hike the challenging
trail to the Torres themselves for a remarkable view
from a jade coloured lagoon. Wildlife abounds in this
remote region and you may be fortunate to be watched
over by a condor soaring high overhead.
Leaving Torres del Paine, we travel
south to the picturesque fishing village of Puerto
Natales, located on the shores of Last Hope Sound.
Enjoy delicious seafood and a good nights rest
before continuing on to Punta Arenas. Why not visit
the nearby Seno Ottway Penguin Colony for some great
photos of these beautiful, if not graceful, birds?
After crossing the Strait of Magellan,
we will spend our final days in Ushuaia, the city
at the end of the world. Located along the Beagle
Channel and surrounded by majestic mountains, we will
trek in the nearby Tierra del Fuego National Park
and canoe in the Channel, as well as make time for
biking, kayaking or a boat cruise before finishing
this ultimate adventure.
