This spectacular journey of discovery and adventure is for the purist. For those who seek wilderness experience, the Best of the Rockies stands out providing a close-up view of the Natural World in the Northwest USA and in Southwest Canada. A very active adventure!

Depart Seattle and head north to Vancouver, a year round playground and one of the most beautiful cities in Canada. Bicycle Stanley Park, rent a boat, or wander the public market at Granville. Eastward through the awesome Fraser River Canyon that separating British Columbia's lush west with the arid centre and marvel at the stunningy scenery.

Onward to the majesty of Jasper National Park to ride horses, canoe a high mountain lake, mountain bike, or hike to your heart's content. On the way to Banff National Park you will follow the Icefields Parkway along the major glaciers that drain the Columbia lcefields. This is a photographer's paradise! Into our secluded campsites at Banff for three nights to swim in the natural hot springs, hike, bicycle, or to take advantage of the excellent nightlife in town.

Here you can also whitewater raft on the Yoho River (depending on water levels). South now into the true wilderness of Glacier National Park. Grizzly bear, moose, elk, mountain goats, marmots and a host of birds and small animals call Glacier home. Hike the high mountain passes amidst unsurpassed beauty. Next stop will be a mountain lodge in rural Montana before continuing into the magic of Yellowstone National Park with its mudpots, petrified trees, geysers, wildlife, waterfalls, lakes, meadows, hot springs and swimming holes.

Following the Rocky Mountains, we go through the Grand Tetons National Park into Jackson, Wyoming, with its Western Rodeo, Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and Silver Dollar Saloon. Activities include horseriding, mountain bicycling and hiking.

Following the Snake River into Idaho, we enter Craters of the Moon National Park, the strange landscape caused by a still active volcanic area. Still on the Snake into Oregon and Washington, this adventure moves west to Mount Rainier National Park.

Forests and river valleys give way to high meadows and glacial lands, continuing north and west to the lush, temperate rain forests of Olympic National Park for the next two nights. Finally back across Puget Sound to Seattle, the progressive waterfront city famous for its Space Needle, markets, microbreweries and coffee bars.
