So much to experience; this
unique camping tour explores some of the best national
parks and beaches in all of Central America!
This unique tour of Costa
Rica & Panama puts you right in the middle of
the action. Visit the world famous Manuel Antonio
National Park, zip line in the cloud forest of Monteverde,
listen to the rumble of Arenal Volcano, walk among
the bubbling mud pots of the surreal Rincón
de la Vieja, and enjoy Sámara, Bocas del Toro
and Corcovado National Parks.
Leaving the capital of San José,
we will visit the Quitirrisí Indigenous Reserve
to see their way of life and their traditional artisans.
We then continue on to the village of San Mateo for
a relaxing evening. The next day we visit Costa Ricas
northern most Pacific rainforests of Carara National
Park. After trekking in the park, we continue on to
Monteverde, where we will have ample time to explore
the famous cloud forest. For an adventurous experience,
try the zip-line tour among the clouddrenched canopies
and across open ravines!
Continue your adventure to Volcán
Arenal, one of the most active volcanoes in the hemisphere.
You can hike, mountain bike or visit one of the various
hot springs that adorn the area. From Arenal, we travel
northwest to the dynamic Parque Nacional Rincón
de la Vieja with its boiling mud and clouds of sulphurous
vapours emanating from beneath the exotic foliage
on the forest floor. Here we will explore the park,
trekking in the enchanting lowland forest and up to
the barren lunar landscape that marks the rim of a
smoking cauldron.
Continuing south through the Nicoya
Peninsula, we arrive at Sámara. In Sámara,
the soft sound of gentle waves is a perennial backdrop
to your adventure. It is a perfect place to relax
and enjoy Costa Ricas beautiful coastline. Snorkel
or swim in the warm, clear Pacific Ocean before returning
to San José. What better way to finish our
journey through Costa Rica than at beautiful Sámara
beach. In Sámara, the soft sound of gentle
waves is a perennial backdrop to your adventure. It
is a perfect place to relax and enjoy Costa Ricas
beautiful coastline. Snorkel or swim in the warm,
clear Pacific Ocean before returning to San José.
After a free
night in the capital, we visit Volcán Poás
with time enough to climb and gaze into its perfect
crater before continuing to Río Cuarto de Grecia.
Here we will explore some incredible waterfalls and
hikes along the Toro River, and there will be opportunities
to white water raft or trek in this natural playground.
The next day finds us travelling south towards Panamá
and its enchanting archipelago, Bocas del Toro, but
first we will spend an evening in Cahuita to enjoy
the night life and Caribbean culture. Arriving to
Bocas del Toro via a scenic boat transfer, you will
appreciate the areas natural beauty.
During the day, you can take a boating
excursion and snorkel among a myriad of coral reef
and brightly coloured fish. In the evenings you can
sip rum cocktails and dance with the locals to the
unique rhythms of Panamas Caribbean islands.
Returning to Costa Rica, we stop in Cahuita to explore
the marine park that bears its name. Afterwards, choose
to walk or bike to nearby waterfalls or enjoy the
day on the beach.
Travelling north and then west,
we make a stop at a private farm in the high southern
mountains that offers one of the best opportunities
to view the resplendent Quetzal, the most mythical
and illusive bird in Central America. The temperature
is cooler here and you will appreciate our comfortable
lodge in the forest. From here, we descend to the
secluded and pristine Osa Peninsula to visit Corcovado
National Park.
As one of the most remote and least
accessible regions of Costa Rica, opportunities to
view wildlife abound and you will be amazed by the
biodiversity. Our last days have us in one of the
most famous beaches in all of Central America, Manuel
Antonio. From the national parks beaches and
tropical forests to the delicious seafood, salsa clubs
and beach bars of the town, what better way to end
your 1 1 -day romp in Costa Rica and Panamá
than by body-surfing Manuel Antonios perfectly
curled waves and perfecting your sun tan!
