Explore sacred Mayan temples, lush jungles and snorkel
with sharks in the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean!
Watch for playful monkeys
and colourful parrots as you explore the jungle and
temples of Tikal, float along the river and explore
ancient Mayan caves, zip-line through the trees and
snorkel with sharks on this weeklong trip of a lifetime!
Starting the adventure from our
Belize City hotel, we will make our way to the jungle
for a truly unique experience. What would you do if
you suddenly found yourself marooned in the midst
of a rainforest? We will learn the ingenious "Survivor"
skills and secrets from our jungle guides who have
done such things first hand! We will learn how to
make fire using only a machete and a piece of bamboo,
how to identify sources of water and much more. We
will also visit a Robinson Crusoe jungle style dwelling
made from all natural materials - vines, branches
and the bark of various trees.
After surviving the jungle, enjoy
the adrenaline rush of a guided ATV / quad bike tour
through the Peccary Hills. Our trails are a good mix
of various terrains leading to some secluded Maya
Caves. We will explore these sacred caves that were
once used by the Mayans for important religious ceremonies.
As we walk through the caves, be on the look out ancient
ceramic pots forgotten for centuries.
Next, we continue up the Western
Highway for an amazing aerial trek, a zip-line tour
through broadleaf rainforest. Zip over 100 feet between
treetop platforms (70 feet high at canopy level) for
a true birds eye view of all the tropical palms
and trees. It is an incredibly exhilarating experience!
Crossing
the border to Guatemala, we will spend the day visiting
the most famous of all Mayan archaeological sites,
Tikal. Situated in the jungles of the Peten region,
the site has been extensively excavated, however,
keep an eye in the trees as you will likely see monkeys
or parrots in the lush jungle.
We will spend our final days
on the Caribbean island paradise of Ambergris Caye.
There will be ample opportunities for snorkelling
alongside docile sharks and graceful sting rays or
SCUBA diving at the 2nd largest coral reef in the
world. The evenings will be perfect for enjoying delicious
seafood dinners under star-filled skies a fitting
end to an impressive, activity-filled tour!
